Tip #1: Know when to seek help

If you are trying to get pregnant, you have to know when you need to seek help. It’s important to know when it’s time to see a doctor and get checked out to see if there are any underlying fertility issues. If you are under age 35 and have been trying for more than a year to get pregnant with no luck, it’s time to see a doctor.

If you are over 35 and have been trying to get pregnant for more than six months, it’s time to see a doctor. Keep these time frames in mind so that you will know when it is time to get help.

Tip #2: Make sure your timing is right

It is SO important that you know when you are ovulating so that you can have the best chance of getting pregnant. There are only a few short days each month when a woman can get pregnant, so if you don’t know for sure when those days are, you probably are not going to get pregnant.

It’s important to find out the time of ovulation when you are trying to conceive. You can use a basal body thermometer to chart your basal body temperature, you can use an over the counter ovulation predictor kit, or you can even use your body’s clues to pay attention to your cervical mucus.

Tip #3: Be as healthy as possible

When you are having trouble conceiving, you already have enough working against you. Do your part to ensure that nothing else is standing in the way of you getting pregnant. This includes making sure that you are at a healthy weight, not too heavy and not too thin. Being overweight and underweight can both damage your ability to conceive.

Also, make sure that you are getting enough sleep, and managing your stress levels. Make sure that you don’t smoke or drink, and especially steer clear of illegal drugs. Stay away from people who do smoke, and try to take as many precautions as possible to make sure nothing stands in your way of conceiving.

Tip #4 Watch what you eat

Eating a healthy diet and making sure your body gets all of the nutrients it needs is very important when you are trying to conceive. Although there are some who are able to get pregnant while overweight, it still best to be able to manage your weight. Stay away from junk and processed foods and try to eat as much of a clean, whole food diet as possible.

There are many vitamins and minerals that your body needs, and that can also aid in fertility. You might want to take a prenatal or other daily vitamin to make sure that you are getting all of the nutrients that your body needs. Also make sure that you are staying active and exercising in order to give your body the best boost possible when it comes to conception.
